You can crack some amazing deals for lunch at this in-house Umrao restaurant. We got 1 + 1 and chose this place for group buffet lunch.
1. Ambience: The restaurant is not very spacious but decent. You get a view of pool and the outside area is pretty refreshing for taking a stroll after heavy lunch.
2. Food:
- The veg starters served on table included paneer tikka, spring roll, and pizza. First two were tasty, you can skip pizza to keep your stomach empty for better stuff.
- Non veg starters included fish fingers and malai chicken tikka. Both were awesome.
- Chicken sweet corn soup was very tasty. Just the right amount of consistency. Tomato soup was good too.
- I absolutely loved their golgappe stall. The golgappe were super crisp ( I prefer atta ones over sooji) and served with three varieties of meetha and teekha pani. Dahi bhalle were super soft and melted like anything - must try. Palak chaat was also tasty.
- There was a live Mongolian counter for sauté veggies with special sauce.
- Both veg biryani and non-veg biryani were served with Salan and you can readily have it.
- Dal makhani was different here and tasty. Not very heavy not too watery.
- Paneer dishes were good. Mushroom and baingan dishes - you can skip.
- Breads were thin and crisp.
- In the dessert section, you get vanilla and strawberry ice creams, brownie, Rabri, cheese cake, tarts, and passion fruit cake. YOU CANNOT MISS THEIR BROWNIE. One of the best I had with vanilla ice cream.
All in all, this was a good experience. Staff is co-operative and courteous.
The in-house restaurant of Umrao serves the best of cuisines at not over-the-top prices. Had a great dining experience at lunch, breakfast and dinner throughout. You can even give special instructions for dishes and they won't disappoint. Would definitely recommend.
It's awesome, the ambience and the food is so so heart warming. The price is also something a middle class person can afford.
